St-Auban, 30 June 1997 Today's weather was somewhat poor with showers since the morning, and some thunderstorms mostly on mountains on the afternoon. Initial tasks were from 312 to 360 km, soon reduced to task B then a task C was decided, for standard class (first on grid) only : 213 km to the south to avoid most of instability : Malmoisson 153, 95 St-Maximin, 5 Aups, 107 Vinon, 35 Digne and back All pilots but 6 completed the tasks, leaded by the 3 Kiwis, John Coutts taking the first place with a speed of 93.89 km/h
