GENERAL SYNOPSIS- Altitude :In upper level (500 hPa), the low is slowly crossing the Alps today. The flow is progressively becoming north-westerly, below 5500m in a first time, then at all levels in late afternoon. - Surface : Tendency to high pressure over the Alps but a low is deepening over the Golf of Genoa, increasing the pressure gradient and the northerly flow over the Southern Alps. The foehn line will appear about in a line Montélimar-Gap-Embrun.

AIR MASS / DEVELOPMENT OF CONVECTION SOUTHERN ALPS- St-Auban sounding
: moist and unstable air mass from surface to 3000m. subsiding inversion
and drier air above.- No St-Crépin nor Aubenasson sounding.- Forecast
evolution : the air mass will become drier and less unstable ; the cloudiness
will decrease and the dynamic effect will be predominating. Thermal will
be locally exploitable in the southern part of the foehn line, with about
2 cu, bases 2000 - 2200 with Temp. max 21°C, a little higher on mid-orography.
