GENERAL SYNOPSIS- 5500m : Weak low over Southern France this morning, but a small ridge will form over Western France in the afternoon then over the Alps in the evening, giving a light North Westerly flow.- Surface : Flat low over France, with slightly increasing pressure throughout the day. A stormy cloud mass is still present this morning over South Western France, and will extend over Northern Alps in the afternoon. In the Southern Alps this morning blue sky won't last long... many Cumulus clouds will form over the mountains and will overdevelop in the afternoon. That evolution has to be confirmed around noon..

AIR MASS / DEVELOPMENT OF CONVECTION - St-Auban sounding : Very humid
and stable below 1500m, a little bit drier but unstable above that level,
without any inversion this morning... but that is due to change during
the day. A new plane sounding will be taken at 11.30 AM.- Aubenasson sounding:
Rather humid at all levels, with a small inversion around 3000m. Many cumulus
will form around noon with bases around 2000m, rising to 2300m in the afternoon.-
St Crépin sounding: Rather humid at all levels, with a small inversion
around 3500m . Many cumulus will form around 10 or 11AM, with bases around
2300m, hopefully rising to 3100m in the afternoon.

Favourable elements : - light then moderate North wind on the West of
St Auban, drying and stabilizing the air mass and reducing the amount of
Cu clouds, then giving slope lifts in the evening. Unfavourable
elements :- High probability of early afternoon Cb and thunderstorms, mainly
East of St Auban and in Northern Alps.
Outlook for tomorrow : - Real improvement with a ridge from Africa
to France, giving a light North-Westerly flow over the Alps.Good soaring
day, at least in the Southern Alps.
