GENERAL SYNOPSIS- Altitude : Low pressure area extending from France to Northern Spain,  directing  a strong Southerly flow over France. - Surface : Low deepening over Spain, generating a new disturbance over Mediterranean sea.The clouds of that disturbance are already visible this morning, but our region should remain just on the East margin of the main mass cloud untill mid-afternoon.

layer AIR MASS/DEVELOPMENT OF CONVECTION :LOCAL  ST-AUBAN : Nocturnal inversion from surface to 1200m, destroyed when temperature reaches 20°C obtained at St Auban around 12h LT.Upper layer, from 1200m to 2800m, favourable for convection  and rather dry.Subsidence inversion above 2800m, up to 3500m, end of plane sounding.-> Expected convective clouds: 2/8 Cu med at noon LT, base around 1500m, rising 2300m at 3pm LT..SOUTHERN ALPS :The air mass is rather dry in plain and hills ( Aubenasson area ), but moister in high mouintains, especially  North of Briançon and in Haute Maurienne valleys. Above 3000m, presence of  a marked subsidence inversion.-> Expected convective clouds: 2 to 3/8 Cu med over mountains, reaching 2800/3200m in mid-afternoon.

Favourable elements :- slope lifts on the South East side.- Likely South to SSE lee waves.   Unfavourable elements :- 4 to 6/8 Cirrus clouds from East to West of the Southern Alps, becoming thicker from the South and covering the sky after  PM.
 
Outlook for tomorrow : Sunny  weather in the morning, become cloudy with convective clouds, producing showers and may be somme thunderstorms.
